Jazzchor Stuttgart
For the past 20 years, the Jazzchor Stuttgart has met every Wednesday in a lively
part of western Stuttgart, in Germany. No matter whether it is snowing, raining,
stormy or the city is sweltering, twenty to thirty singers come together to sing “doo dn
doo bup”.
We come from all walks of life. Among us are engineers, pastors, teachers, doctors
and architects. Some work for the city administration, others in creative professions.
Most of us would probably never have met, but a shared love of jazz singing has
brought us together.
Our rehearsals and concerts are always great fun. We sing everything from classic
jazz favourites and Swabian blues to music inspired by African singing traditions, as
well as new and lively arrangements of well-known songs.
Since 2006, our choir has been led by Christiane Holzenbecher, who has shaped
and coloured our sound with great passion and care. Over the years, we have also
been inspired by outstanding international vocal jazz specialists such as Andrea
Figallo of the Wise Guys, Philip Lawson, formerly of the King’s Singers, and Tine Fris
from Postyr Project and Vocal Line, who have helped refine our sound and
performance in workshops and coaching sessions.
This year, we are celebrating 20 years of singing together, and we are especially
happy to share this anniversary with you.'

Tango Sí!
Tango Sí! perform traditional tango, valses and milongas as well as Tango Nuevo by Astor
Piazzolla. Their repertoire also covers tango compositions by the younger generation in
Argentina and their own compositions.
Tango Sí! is not only one of the few ensembles to perform Piazzolla’s original
compositions, the musicians also interpret Argentine tango from its beginnings to the
present day with stylistic confidence. They present this magnificent music with wit and
charm, guiding their audience through the history of Argentine tango – a musical journey to
Argentina!
The four professional classically trained musicians of the Tango Sí! quartet gained their
tango experience through studies in Buenos Aires and Paris, where they explored tango
and were captivated by its fascinating energy. Their individual experiences and adventures
now come together in the Tango Sí! ensemble, leading the audience into a soundscape full
of power, melancholy and passion.
